Breakdown for the cost of the project

Kibbutz Foster Village is a Community Interest Company, which means we are not doing this for profit, but for the people and foster children. We want to build a community where we can grow our own food, food for the Neighbourhood, primary and secondary schools in the area using permaculture design and ethics. But most important we would like to teach future generations how to live and work collectively and in harmony.

This is a social project encompassing broad borders – Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster.

The sum of 3 000 000 will be necessary to:

  • Purchase a land suitable by the size and the quality of the soil;
  • Construct residential buildings for the: cooperative members, foster children in the Village and Volunteers.
  • Build working and production facilities with the aim to provide independent or sustainable life and income for the cooperative members;
  • Purchase inventory – machinery for the cultivation of organic produce – vegetables, fruit, as well as products of meat;
  • Separate dining room – for foster children, members, visitors, volunteers.
  • Solar barn (£60,000) Foundations, local timber posts, larch cladding, roof sheets;
  • Polytunnel (£50,000) purchasing and building 20 polytunnels (24ft) for indoor propagation, extended growing season and crop diversity.

We will follow permaculture principles and ethics to produce enough food for over 500 people (veg boxes, restaurants, shops). We will use hand tools and electric tools (powered tither) to cultivate healthy and productive soil. We will never use any chemicals on our land.

The project we would like to start as :

Kibbutz Foster Village, with the assistance of both Sheffield and other neighbouring municipalities regarding application process for Foster children, planning department and Licensing office.
In the final phase of its development, the expected results are its growth and transformation into a Social Agricultural Family Cooperative. We would like to note that this is the first unique single project in the UK to be launched as Kibbutz Foster Village, in which activities and businesses like this will serve the needs of urban municipalities, for disadvantaged children and those affected by domestic violence, in the territory of the United Kingdom.
Its transformation into a Social Agricultural Family Cooperative is a goal and reason to show that the Cooperative can function and support itself, outside the existing state system of social assistance and benefits. In addition, it will be an outstanding example and experiment of how a social society united in the principles of conscious collectivism is able to develop and survive in the conditions of global pandemics and preconditions , such as Covid19 and other crises..
This project will be a vital ,not just for the Foster Children, but for families on a low income who can be part of the Cooperative.

We are looking for donations of land which we will protect for ecological agriculture in perpetuity.
